Bitz 'N' Blogs with CJ Cross

Hi! My name is Ceej. I like to write stuff!

The Week That Was All About The Floof

Initially, I had wanted to write a follow up blog from last weeks blog ( Which, if you haven’t yet read – you can do so here : https://domainsaredumb.blog/2026/03/08/farewell-to-outlander-the-one-where-i-hang-up-my-fandom-hat/) where I was to offer an amusing take on the 3 personality types you’ll find in a fandom. I had it all planned out, giggling to myself over how funny I thought I was going to be .. .and then Miss Floof got sick and all matter of funny went out the window.

Tuesday night she seemed fine. She ate her dinner. She had after dinner snacks. She even cuddled with me after Hubby and I went to bed.

By Wednesday morning however, she was not her usual happy self. She turned up her nose at her breakfast and refused to eat any of favourite snacks. She was hiding under the bed, refusing to come out. Which was not like her at all.

For those of you who know my kitten, you know that she suffers from a rather large case of F.O.M.O-Floof Of Missing Out meaning that, she must be the centre of the Universe at all times.

It is Miss Floof’s world and we are simply living in it. People have attempted to ignore this over the years ( Yes! They have indeed tempted fate) and found themselves at the receiving end of a rather extensive telling off!

Anyway, as I was saying, by Wednesday morning she seemed off her food. She turned her nose up at her breakfast. Refused to eat.

By lunchtime she’d not eaten a thing so we did what any concerned pet owners would do and called our vet.

They were fully booked that day and couldn’t fit her in so they gave us the telephone number for another vet located in Boronia.

Hubby came home from work and took her to her appointment at 2:30pm that afternoon. They said that nothing was immediately wrong however, they felt she may have an obstruction in her lower intestine, which they thought may require surgery.

Hubby called our vet and booked her in for 8.40am Thursday morning.

My support worker, Miss C and I took her to the vet that moring (Hubby had to return to work) and waited while our vet checked her over.

Overall, her ears, teeth and gums were healthy and no lumps, bumps or blockages were detected. Miss Floof was brave throughout the whole ordeal especially when she needed to be given a laxative from behind.

The vet tried to get her to relieve herself in the litter tray they provided but it was to no avail and my poor baby began showing signs of severe stress as she was panting and drooling everywhere.

Eventually, we put her back in her carrier. As soon as we did so, she managed to complete the assigned task and everyone was relieved.

After the vet cleaned her up, we took Miss Floof home.

Hubby and I have been monitoring her over the last few days, ensuring she’s eating ( little bits at a time but still) . We’ve swapped out her bowl for one that’s slightly more ergonomic and replaced her water bowl with a larger one to see if that helps her any.

She seems to be OK at the moment. She’s eaten kitten snacks and has had a little bit of roast chicken as a treat . She’s using the tray just fine and so far there appears to be no further issues.

She is our beautiful girl. We love her dearly. These last few days have been rather stressful to say the least.

But she is home. She has had snuggles. For now she is sound asleep by Hubbys computer desk.

She’s happy

And that’s just the way we like it
