OK…. So this weeks blog is going to be short and sweet because honestly, after spending 3.5 hours in the ER on Friday due to a medical emergency which I’m still recovering from, I’m kinda tired and not one for long, lengthy explanations today.
For contet – the definition of spoiler I’m talking about today is this one:
Noun–
A spoiler is information about the plot of a TV series, film, or book that could spoil the enjoyment of someone who has not yet seen or read it.
Do we understand? Good.
*Deep Breath* You ready? Here we go …
Since the invention of the internet, Human Beings have developed a love /hate relationship with spoilers.
If you love them… Great! Good for you! If having a thing completely spoiled before you view it is your jam.. Love that for you!
If you don’t… Look , I get it… It sucks and how you feel about it is valid.
That said, you need to realise that it’s the year 2026 and nobody has the time to give a damn about how you feel. Valid though your position is, you’re just gonna come across as a whiney ass bitch to everyone. Sorry.
So, to avoid that, It’s probably best to simply mute, unfollow, block, remove, untag, everything until you’ve seen the thing OR if you can’t do that – don’t go online till after you’ve watched the thing.
BUT WHY SHOULD I? I hear you cry. EVERYONE SHOULD JUST ACCOMMODATE ME AND NOT POST SPOILERS! IT”S NOT THAT HARD IS IT, HMMM?
I know it’s hard. I know it sucks. But (Gently takes both your hands and looks you dead in the eye) take accountability yourself. You’re an adult and you can do that. OK? Excellent!
The onus is on the individual to avoid spoilers … Not the group at large.
